In addition to class instruction time, I am also available outside of class to answer questions and provide advice as you work on your projects. Part of the value of taking a course from me is the personalized mentorship I offer you as you learn and grow your skills over time.

3-DAY ONLINE BASE METAL CLAY EXPLORATION WORKSHOP - $ 450.00 or $ 175.00 per day session


Join me (either online or in-person) for the ultimate base metal clay learning experience!  Perfect for anyone interested in exploring new metal clay and stone setting techniques. Combine bronze, copper, white copper, and unique stones into personalized one-of-a-kind jewelry.


Twelve hours of hands-on project instruction over three days will introduce you to new techniques, challenge your design creativity, and inspire your interest in the use of base metals. 


For online attendees w​e will meet ​using Zoom, an​ online video​ conference​ platform, ​that allows face-to-face interaction just like an in-person classroom. Through lecture, live demonstration, hundreds of process pictures, and the use of more than 50 self-made videos shared via YouTube, I will provide practical guidance in the use of various base metal clays (including the complexity of firing schedules) and guide you in the design and creation of your own projects. You will be able to ask questions interactively as I explain concepts, show techniques, and share examples.  


Detailed step-by-step instructions will be provided for each project! In addition to class instruction time, I will also be available between class sessions to answer questions and provide advice as you work on your projects.


All levels of students are welcome although ​this course is best ​if you already​ have some basic experience with metal clay. You will make six (6) projects including:


1. Three-dimensional, 4 part round or square box beads (any color)

2. Multi-copper CZ set molded earrings using molds, CZs, and embeddables

3. Five Star textured bronze (two color) bracelet and toggle

4. Bronze ring using a ring core and bezel set stone

5. Bronze ring using a handmade metal clay ring band with stone set in place

6. Copper pendant with irregular stone set using wire prongs and embeddable bail


Included in the workshop cost is a complete class kit consisting of 100 grams of FASTfireBRONZclay™, 60 grams of COPPRclay™, 30 grams of WHITE COPPRclay™, 50 grams of Five Star bronze in two colors, ring core, one irregular shaped stone, two 6-8mm stones, bezel cups, two 3 mm CZs, copper eyelet embeddables, and copper wire for prongs.
