ABOUT CAMP PMC® CERTIFICATION

I'm excited to be one of the national instructors offering a new program for those who love metal clay and are looking to expand their skills and opportunities!  Both online and in-person learning options are available to students in the United States and Canada. 


The Camp PMC Certification Program is a personal learning experience designed with separate development paths for metal clay artisans and metal clay instructors. After taking the core Camp PMC Course 101 class, students can choose to advance their metal clay skills through artisan courses, become a PMC instructor, or both.


Instructor classes include two levels, PMC Instructor and PMC Principal Instructor. PMC instructors will be eligible to teach the Camp PMC Course 101 and PMC principal instructors will be eligible to teach PMC Instructor Course 201.

Students completing the Camp PMC Course 101 will receive an 8% discount on future purchases of PMC clays through Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. Students completing PMC Instructor Course 201 will receive a 10% discount on future purchases of PMC clays through Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. Students also receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Sawtooth School for Visual Art, for each course completed.

2-DAY ONLINE CAMP PMC® 103 SOLDERING and FUSING on PMC - $ 395.00

Skill Level: Prerequisite is completion of Camp PMC 101 course.

This two-session online course is designed for students interested in expanding their metal clay skills through the use of soldering and fusing. Learn basic techniques of soldering sterling silver, copper, brass, and metal clays. In adddition, learn how to fuse fine silver, Argentium, and metal clays. More than 30 self-made videos are used throughout the two-day course to help illustrate and reinforce concepts across all the projects.


You will make four (4) projects including fine silver post earrings, fine silver and Argentium-fused earrings, a .950 OneFire soldered ring with a stone, and a .950 OneFire copper/brass pendant with a stone.


You'll need to have some basic metal clay and soldering tools. If you have questions, please contact me and we can disuss details.

What’s the deadline for registration?

Registration deadline is December 4th in order to give me enough time to mail the course kit to you.


What should I expect after registration?

· Within 48 hours of registration, I will email you a tool supply list. In short, you will need some basic metal clay and soldering tools. Please contact me if you have any questions after receiving the tool supply list.


· About 3-7 days prior to the start of class you will receive a course kit in the mail that will include all your clay and course materials.

· About 2 days prior to the start of class you will also receive an email that will include course login details. You will be able to contact me to test your connection prior to the class.


· We’ll meet online for two consecutive days via Zoom videoconference. There is NO additional cost for this service. However, since this is a live course, you will not have access to a recording if you are not in attendance.


· A secure group website will be setup for reference documents, videos, and project photo submissions.


· To pass the course and obtain a certificate you will be required to complete and meet requirements for all 4 projects within one month after course completion, submit photos of your work to me for review, and take/pass a short, written test that you will need to take, scan, and send back to me.


What other things should I know?

· If you miss a session, you will have to review the manual and/or private website to catch up on missed information.


· I cannot be held responsible for technical difficulties beyond my control (e.g. power outage, poor Internet connection, etc.) I will be available to test your connection with you prior to the start of the course.


3-DAY ONLINE CAMP PMC® 101 CERTIFICATION - $ 425.00

Skill Level: All

In this fundamental three-session online course, ​you will learn fundamental skills required to work with metal clays and be successful with all PMC products. W​e’ll meet ​using Zoom, an​ online video​conference​ platform, ​that allows face-to-face interaction just like an in-person classroom. ​I will lecture and demonstrate live, and ​you will be able to ask questions in real-time. In addition, more than 30 self-made videos are used throughout the three-day course to help illustrate and reinforce concepts across all the projects. ​All levels of students are welcome although ​this course is best ​if you already​ have some exposure and experience with metal clay.


​You'll practice fundamental techniques including rolling, texturing, cutting, carving, sculpting, molding, refining, firing and polishing. Extra time will be taken to discuss firing processes and ​you will practice torch firing along with kiln firing.


​You will make five (5) projects including ​three (3) wrapped beads, ​a pair ​of​ earrings with a firable stone, ​a wrapped ring with a firable stone, ​a double textured pendant with syringe detail, ​and a​ sculpted toggle clasp. The included kit consists of 20 grams of PMC 3, 25 grams of PMC OneFire 950 Sterling, 5 grams of PMC Flex, 9 grams of PMC Syringe, a pair of sterling silver ear wires, fireable stones, embeddables, consumables, and a student course manual.


By passing the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Sawtooth School for Visual Art. You will also be entitled to an 8% discount on all PMC clays through Clay Revolution. and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply.

· About 2 days prior to the start of class you will also receive an email that will include course login details. You will be able to contact me to test your connection prior to the class.

What’s the deadline for registration?

Registration deadline is January 15th, 2021 or whenever the class is sold out, whichever comes first. If sold out, I may add additional dates to fulfill the demand.


What is the cancellation policy?

No refunds will be given for cancellations made after January 15th, 2021 although full credit will be offered for a future course (either in-person or online) taken within three months of cancellation. Cancellations made prior to January 15th, 2021 will be refunded in full less a $ 75.00 administrative fee. Optionally, a full credit may be offered for a future course (either in-person or online) taken within three months of cancellation.


What should I expect after registration?

· Within 48 hours of registration, you will receive a confirmation email.

· Approximately one week prior to the course, you will receive final details related to the course including a request to note any dietary restrictions you may have.


What other details should I know?

· To pass the course and obtain a certificate you will be required to complete and meet requirements for all 5 projects within two weeks after course completion should you not finish all the projects during our classroom time.

· You are not required to bring your own tools. They will be available to work on the projects.



2-DAY ONLINE CAMP PMC® 201 CERTIFICATION - $ 395.00


Skill Level: Prerequisite is completion of Camp PMC 101 course.

This two-session online course is designed to teach the aspiring instructor how to hold successful workshops, develop projects and curricula, and certify students in the Camp PMC Certification Program.


You will learn all of the fundamental skills of instruction while working through a real world project. Lesson plans, time management, and pricing – as well as motivational speaking – will be addressed. The material will include group speaking practice sessions and cover subjects essential to successful instruction, including how to hold your audience’s attention and the key components of making successful tutorials and classes. Afterwards, you will create your own metal clay project and tutorial based on the guidelines addressed in class and take a short written test. The workshop fee includes 50g of PMC3 to be used in the tutorial development project.


Upon completion of the course and project, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from Sawtooth School for Visual Art and a 10% discount on PMC clays at Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. The designation of PMC Instructor will be awarded and you will be eligible to purchase the Camp PMC Course 101 curriculum and begin certifying other students.
