ABOUT CAMP PMC® CERTIFICATION

I'm excited to be one of the national instructors offering a new program for those who love metal clay and are looking to expand their skills and opportunities!  Both online and in-person learning options are available to students in the United States and Canada.

The Camp PMC Certification Program is a personal learning experience designed with separate development paths for metal clay artisans and metal clay instructors. After taking the core Camp PMC Course 101 class, students can choose to advance their metal clay skills through artisan courses, become a PMC instructor, or both.

Instructor classes include two levels, PMC Instructor and PMC Principal Instructor. PMC instructors will be eligible to teach the Camp PMC Course 101 and PMC principal instructors will be eligible to teach PMC Instructor Course 201.

Students completing the Camp PMC Course 101 will receive an 8% discount on future purchases of PMC clays through Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. Students completing PMC Instructor Course 201 will receive a 10% discount on future purchases of PMC clays through Clay Revolution and Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. Students also receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Sawtooth School for Visual Art, for each course completed.

We will meet using Zoom, an online video conference platform, that allows face-to-face interaction just like an in-person classroom. If you're new and ready to dive in but feel you may need some more information on the basics, please let me know and we can schedule a pre-class Zoom session (no charge) to talk through this. Part of the value of this course will be the mentorship I offer you as you learn and grow your skills over time.

You'll learn about fundamental techniques including rolling, texturing, cutting, carving, sculpting, molding, refining, firing and polishing. Extra time will be taken to discuss firing processes and you will practice torch firing along with kiln firing.
